Die Geschichte beginnt für Marie während einer Taxifahrt zur Stadt, wo sie eine Stelle in einer Tierarztpraxis erhalten hat.

Nach einer unerwarteten Autopanne trifft sie glücklicherweise auf sehr freundliche Menschen in einer nahe gelegenen Ranch. Dort erfährt sie, dass der zuständige Landherr der Ranch unter mysteriösen Umständen verschwunden ist.

Seit dieser Zeit kämpfen seine jungen Angestellten um den Erhalt der Ranch.
